Hello everyone!
We finally got DSL internet at our new house so now I can get caught back up. I have been using my dads computer for the past two weeks so I really have not gotten much done by way of researching and all. I did manage to keep my schoolwork current however :)
I found out today that my clinicals are getting close. I start my clinicals in November and cannot wait. I know that is still 7 months away, but seeing as how fast school has went so far it will be here before I know it. I can't believe that I have already been attending Kaplan for a little over 9 months. When I first started I did not think that I could handle all of the writing and the very little free time I get, but I have lasted and am very proud of myself. I have had to change a bunch of things in my life, but I have a very understanding family and they are supporting me 100%. So I would say that school has influenced me in a good way. I make sure that I take at least one day off a week from school so that I can spend that time with my family.

Plagiarism and references
Reading the chapter over plagiarism has gotten me to wonder how many times I may have plagiarized when I was in school years ago. I was never taught to list references when I was in school and if I was, I do not remember it. We was just given a topic and sent to the library to write. So when I started here at Kaplan it took me a while to get used to references and citing. I am still a little worried that I may mess up on listing the reference wrong or something like that. I do see the importance in citing our sources; to give credit to the person who wrote it. The thing I am still confused on is why different types of sources such as journals, books, etc. have to be cited differently on the reference page. You think that just citing them one way would be okay, but I guess not. I mean, I don't mind doing it I was just curious as to why they are different is all :)

A bad week for me to be an online student
I really love the fact that I am back in school and getting closer to getting my degree, but online college can be challenging at times. As I wrote about in my last blog, I recently moved and had internet issues. Well, I am still having internet issues and that is when online college gets tough! When you sign up, you never really think that you will be without internet for long so you really do not plan anything out. Now I am wondering where I am going to get my school work done and hoping that I do not fall behind. Thankfully, my dad is awesome and lets me come to his house whenever I need to so that I can do my work. Thanks to him I am finally getting caught up.. YAY! Now I have a plan and know that I have a place to go when I have internet issues in the future.
Other than that, I really cannot think of any other struggles of being an online student. I love the fact that I can basically do my work anytime of the day or night. I am a night owl, so I do my best thinking at night. I don't have to get out and drive 30 miles to the closest college everyday. All the professors and staff are really helpful and nice. If I have a question, they usually respond to my question within 24 hours. Lets just say that I like online college better than campus college. When I went to a local college about 10 years ago, I lasted like 6 weeks. I am going on 9 months at Kaplan and still love it!

What a hectic week
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. This is the first time that I have ever did a blog so bare with me.. LOL.. This week has been very stressful for me. We are in the process of moving and right now we have no internet service at our new place. So for me to do my school work, I have to go to my old place so that I can have internet access. Hopefully within the next week we will have everything transferred and set up at the new house and my life can get back to normal.
